Wheeling is a village in Cook and Lake counties with a population of about 38,495. Incorporated in 1894, it began as an overnight stop for travelers heading from Chicago to Wisconsin and is known for Restaurant Row along Milwaukee Avenue, a tradition dating back to the inns and taverns of the 1830s.
