Elburn is a village in western Kane County, about 50 miles west of downtown Chicago. With a population of about 6,100, it is the western terminus of Metra's Union Pacific West Line and is served by Kaneland CUSD 302. Originally called Blackberry Station when the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad came through in 1854, the village was incorporated as Elburn in 1886 and is known for its small-town charm, strong schools, and growing residential development.
