East Dundee is a small village straddling the Fox River in Kane County, with a small section in Cook County, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Chicago. Incorporated in 1871, it has a population of about 3,200 and is known for its historic downtown, Santa's Village amusement park, and its position along the Fox River Trail. The village is served by CUSD 300 and has its own police department.
